About Night Has A Thousand Eyes
You can never be certain when someone might have their eyes or ears on you.
On the outskirts of Philadelphia, an overworked accountant driving in the middle of the night spots a pulled-over car with a flat tire and decides to do the right thing. The next thing he knew, he ended up in his car’s trunk with two bullets to his chest.
Elsewhere in the expensive suburbs of Philadelphia, a plastic surgeon and his wife were both found dead in their house. The husband was found with a bullet to his head, and his wife was found with her carotid artery cut open. It looked like a murder-suicide.
The same night, when a drunk ex-cop, Callie Torres, was found with a fatal bullet wound in a seedy motel, Homicide Detective Arya Martins gets notified. When Arya goes to the crime scene, all the preliminary evidence points to the cop eating her own bullet. In other words, suicide.
Four bodies in one night didn’t help the homicide unit’s dismal clearance rate. Keen to improve the clearance rate by the end of the year, Arya’s boss wanted Arya to close the ex-cop case as a suicide and the plastic surgeon case as a murder-suicide. But Arya has no appetite or respect for self-serving bureaucrats, and the only thing that matters to her is the truth and finding justice for the victims.
Working on the case, Arya soon starts making dangerous connections between the murders and follows the trail wherever it leads, no matter the consequences to her.
Night Has a Thousand Eyes is a great ride with lots of surprising twists and turns, a novel that will appeal to crime fiction fans.
